How to read the chart

Example: 170 cm and 70 kg → BMI = 70 ÷ (1.70 × 1.70) = 24.2, in the healthy range. In pounds: BMI = 703 × weight (lb) ÷ height (in)².

Limits of BMI

BMI is a screening measure and does not measure body fat directly. It can overrate muscular people and does not apply to children, teenagers or pregnancy. For body fat, use the body fat calculator.
