Why Does Ideal Weight Differ Between Men and Women?
At 176 cm the four formulas give men about 5.1 kg more than women, because each formula uses different constants for men and women, derived from historical height–weight data (on average men carry more lean and bone mass). The BMI-based healthy range is the same for both sexes at the same height.
